What Does the following MRI Scan Indicate?

Hi, I recently had an MRI and the impression is as follows- Central canal stenosis and spinal cord deformity at C5-6 and C6-7 secondary to disc/osteophyte complexes.
Multilevel foraminal narrowing, most pronounced at C5-6 and C6-7.

Can you tell me what this means?
Thanks

Radiologist 's  Response
Hello

Findings suggests multi-level degenerative changes in cervical spine.
Degenerative changes are generally age related findings. It is due to chronic stress on annulus fibrosis.

At C5-6 and C6-7 level, there is prolapsed inter vertebral disc and ostophyte complex which is causing central spinal canal stenosis(narrowing). It is also deforming spinal cord.

Majority of degenerative disc disease patients are benefited by conservative treatment in the form of physiotherapy, analgesics and muscle relaxants.
Surgery is advised in non responding cases.
Physiotherapy helps in strengthening of paraspinal muscles and it prevents further changes.

Get well soon.
Take Care
